Easy Way To Get Twitter Followers

I recently posted this in the My Instant Biz forum, but thought it should go in here too, as I see a lot of new Twitterers are a bit lost when it comes to knowing where to start with Twitter.

There are several excellent and easy ways to get Twitter followers, but if you want to get them in style, you first need to set up an account in ‘SocialOomph’ so that when people start to follow you in their droves, you don’t have to reply to each of them separately.

I’m all for automation, so automate your Tweeting – SocialOomph (More about this further down)

Here’s a fairly new concept – TweeterGetter - tweetergetter.com

Now, it says you’ll get thousands of followers, but I can’t say that’s anywhere near what’s happened for me, but I’m up by 66 in 10 days. Not as good as I had hoped, but it’s really simple.

Although I’ve found its faster and better to do it another way:

• Go to twellow.com and login with your twitter details. Once you’ve logged in you see the categories – choose one you fancy, that’s similar to your Twitter profile eg marketing, in which there are more categories – choose one of those.

• You then see a list of people who are registered in that category. Click in their twitter name in the brackets: (eg Lynda Hill is acmeinfo on Twitter).

• That takes you to their Twitter page. Here’s where the fun starts.

• Follow them and then follow a page of their followers by clicking on ‘followers’ on the right and then go down the list clicking ‘follow’. Follow the whole page. Then go back to Twellow and choose someone else.

• You can do a couple of pages per person if you want to, but no more. Aim for about 200 max for the day; so, one page of followers per 10 you’ve chosen from Twellow.

By the way, these methods are all quite acceptable among the Twitter community. But what you don’t want to do is start selling anything straight off. So your auto reply in TweetLater needs to be something friendly like: Hi. Thanks for following me. I look forward to seeing your tweets.

Just to recap:
1. Sign up with SocialOomph and set up your replies etc.
2. Go to Twellow to find people.
3. Follow 10 those people and one page of their followers.
4. Sit back and watch the numbers grow in your Twitter account.

BTW, I have set my account to auto-follow anyone who follows me, wherever they come from, and I don’t un-follow any who leave.

There’s lots more to Twitter, and don’t let it distract you too much; but once it’s all set up it’s easy enough.
