• Online advertising

Hi Again. Thanks for coming back!

(I’ve just brought this post over from my other blog as I’m changing the theme over there (lynda-hill.com). It was written in October 2008.

Yesterday I mentioned a new business opportunity called Succeed In 30 Days. Now I’m not going to go into that right now, but what I would like to do is mention how it has opened my eyes to a whole new way of advertising online.

The advertising needn’t be for businesses either; you can advertise anything and everything as long as it’s ‘legal, decent and honest’.

I’ve been using Pay Per Click for my business so far – which is another phrase for ‘Google Adwords’ and Yahoo Search. PPC is quite complicated to set up (until you learn how) and it can prove very expensive. A strange statistic is that Amit Mehta, one of the top Super Affiliate Marketers in the world is making $2.4 million a year right now – BUT – he’s paying anything from $5,000 per DAY on Google Adwords. Am I missing something? Simple statistical analysis makes me wonder if it’s worthwhile!

They say you have to pay money to make money and I understand that. I’m quite happy to pay my advertising fees, but sometimes setting up the right Keywords can be very complex – I won’t go into that now, other than to say that there’s a brand new program Pay Per Click Classroom 2.0 which has just been released (and it’s not expensive either). BTW, that’s not my affiliate link; I’ve decided not to join this time round as I have other projects I want to complete right now. I did learn a great deal just from watching the three pre-launch videos though. I digress.

The reason for this Blogpost is to mention the other advertising methods recommended by the Succeed In 30 Days program -and I’ll throw in a third as well.

Sometimes we see something but it doesn’t actually mean much. Then along comes someone else who says exactly the same thing and the penny drops!

Wealthy Affiliate University, of which I am a member, mentioned the first method, but I thought nothing of it. It’s USFreeAds.com. It’s an online classified ad system. Frankly I was amazed. The free option lets you run 2 ads at a time, but for the princely sum of $10 – PER YEAR – you can run up to 25 ads concurrently. These ads last 40 days and each one will automatically renew if you want it to. There is a lot moreof course, but I’ll leave it to you whether you click through.

The second method I’d heard about but hadn’t considered yet. It’s a means of getting an ad distributed via safelists to ezine readers. For $12.50 I set up an ad to go out to 100,000 readers. What’s good about safelists is that they have double opt-in subscribers – which means people want to get them. So you can be reasonably sure the ads will be seen. You just need to decide how much you want to pay. The program I was pointed to for this purpose is MBPAdvertising.com. Go check it out.

    And what’s the third method?

It’s something I haven’t used for years because you can waste a lot of time surfing! It’s called TrafficSwarm and you can sign up for free. The idea behind it is that you view – ’surf’ – the advertisers pages and earn credits, usually between 1 and 5, for each page you view. You need to stay on the page for 20 seconds before you click for the next one. As these credits build up you can use them to advertise your own site or sites. If you sign up (and pay) for the Pro version you get better deals. I think I must have done that years ago. I’d completely forgotten about TrafficSwarm, but I hadn’t closed my account, so imagine my surprise when they wouldn’t let me register a new account! The upshot is that I paid $40 to top up my account by 2,000 credits and they gave me 2,200 for being a Pro member. So far I have 5 of my websites being advertised.

So, there you are. Three different forms of advertising.

    USFreeAds.com – for mainly classifieds

MBPAdvertising.com – for ezine ads, banner ads etc

TrafficSwarm – ad rotator for targeted readers

None of them is particularly expensive which is why I am more than happy to recommend them to you.

Let’s see what I come up with in my next Blogpost.

    ‘Bye for now

  • Internet Goals for 2009 Group Writing Project

Internet Goals for 2009 Group Writing Project

Daniel Scocco of Daily Blog Tips is running another internet goals project this year. He’s inviting bloggers to submit their internet biz goals for 2009 to his blog via a comment and then on 17th December he will write a post with all the entries.

Setting goals has always been a problem for me. Not sure if it’s normal to be like this, or a national (British) trait. Perhaps having been disapointed in the past, I’m loathe to even think about goals. But of late I have been prompted to put some down. So, for my blog readers and myself – and the project – here are my internet biz goals for 2009.

    1. Very soon (ie by beginning of January 2009 – to achieve regular sales of $100 per day every day. (All sources.) By mid March $300-$500 per day.

    2. Finally get the niche thing sorted – I never know what to choose. (Help is on the way though – here.)

    2. Maintain two high quality blogs posting at least three times a week to both.

    3. Write and submit at least 2 of my own articles per day to two or more of the following – article directories (Goarticles, ezinearticles, affsphere), squidoo, hubpages, USfreeads etc.

    4. Every month from now – set up 2 review websites and 5-10 minisites in 5-10 niches.

    5. Set up full and complete autoresponder campaigns to go with the above sites.

    6. Together with the above to carry on studying and using the resources I already have to their fullest. (I find Wealthy Affiliate University to be about the best, but there are others such as BecomeABlogger, Affilorama and SEO Elite which I also find extremely useful all the time). I’ve learnt so much from all of these in the 3-4 months I’ve been internet bizzing. Daily Blog Tips is very new to me – and it’s excellent too.

    7. By mid 2009 – May/June -help my kids pay off their debts. Set up monetised blogs and websites for them, for example.

    8. By end 2009 – my husband no longer needs to go to work (unless he wants to).

    9. Long term – must be – to pay off the mortgage.

Now, I’m off to get started making it happen!

  • Site Rubix Review – Really Easy Website Builder

I must admit I was amazed. I haven’t done much website design recently, the last time was when I used Serif PagePlus which was very good; but it did take me an hour or so. Yesterday I designed 2 websites in about 10 minutes and today I did another two in the same time. How? By using Site Rubix, that’s how.

To be honest I was a bit stumped at how to get started until I found a video on someone else’s site. This provided enough detail to work out what to do, despite the awful quality, and suddenly I found I had made my first two sites. I’ve since found a better version on the Site Rubix site itself (why didn’t I think of that first!)  – you’ll see it when you get ahead of me and click the link HERE.

It’s not quite 1-2-3, but it is certainly step-by-step.

    1. Give your new site a name.
    2. Choose a template (background. layout, colour) There are 16 templates to choose from. Hit the ‘create site’ button.
    3. You are then taken to the main screen where you enter the information (text) you want to put up on your website. It has useful detailing such as ‘click here to enter text’, So you ‘click here’ and add what you want, you can then resize it, change the colour, change the font, make the words bold, italic etc.
    4. If you don’t like the banner at the top (background panel) then you click on ‘change banner’ and go and find one you do like. While you look through the list you can click each one to see a preview.
    5. You add a new section by clicking on ‘add new layout’ which brings up 7 different layout designs such as a section divided in half down the middle, or 30/70, 70/30 – or just all the way across (100%). You then add the information you want in there.
    6. On the left Is already a Navigation panel – so you can have more than one page on your site and link to each of them through the menu – or you can delete it completely.
    7. In the sections you can add images as well as the text, or instead of it, and you can also put in a hyperlink for either so that it goes to a URL when It’s clicked.
    8. If you decide you don’t like the template you started out with, you can simply change it without losing all your work.
    9. And you can work in html if you must. If you don’t know what that is, it’s the coding language website designers use – but if you are using Site Rubix, you don’t really need to worry about that.

Every time any change is made the system automatically saves your work for you – but you can also save it manually. As you progress you can even preview what you are doing to make sure it is all right.

Once you’ve finished, Site Rubix has its very own FTP program for you to upload your new site to your hosting company. This is very easy once you know how to login using FTP – your hosting ISP will be able to help you with those details, but as a guide you will need your domain name ie joebloggs.com, the username for your hosting site and the password. But I don’t need to tell you all this as the help pages in Site Rubix are there to do that.

You can use Site Rubix to build a site with one or 100s of pages.

Here’s a summary of exactly what Site Rubix will be able to do:

    • Build a professional looking site in less than 5 minutes.
    • Build a site with absolutely no HTML skills.
    • Drag and drop your site to look how you want it.
    • Send your new website (or changes you may make in future) directly to your own webhost using the built-in FTP.
    • Use it to quickly build websites for other people – and get paid.
    • Duplicate existing pages and full sites with a click of the button.
    • Customise banners, images etc and the system will handle the resizing etc to keep it looking great.
    • Upload your own pictures and graphics so that they are stored ready for use at any time.

and what is more, it’s totally FREE to all members of Wealthy Affiliate University of which I am one!! WA also happens to include FREE webhosting and a host of resources, tools and support.

In fact, Wealthy Affiliate University is the only place where you can get access to Site Rubix. So why don’t you check it out now!

    Gxis la revido
